Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • We combine expert test prep with strategic college admissions support under one roof. Every student gets a personalized roadmap – from SAT/ACT planning to essay coaching — with consistent 1-on-1 support so that students remain consistent, motivated, and proactive in their learning. We don’t just teach a test – we guide students to their best-fit colleges.

  • It’s never too early to start building a strong application — we help younger students plan academics, activities, and testing. While middle school is a time for students to discover their passions, we emphasize developing soft skills such as time management and personal responsibility. And it’s never too late — we support seniors with applications, essays, and deadlines. We meet students where they are and help them get to where they want to be.

  • We tailor the schedule to fit the student’s needs. Most sessions are 60–90 minutes, depending on the subject. Students typically meet 1-2 times a week for tutoring, and more frequently during college essay season or right before test dates.

  • Our mission is simple: quality instruction at affordable rates. Yes, we offer package pricing for families who sign up for longer-term programs, and we occasionally have scholarships or need-based aid. We also offer flexible monthly plans to make the process more accessible.

  • We ask for 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling to respect our tutors’ time. We’re flexible in emergencies and always try to find a makeup time that works.

College Counseling

  • Our college counseling includes building a college list, essay coaching/narrative crafting, application strategy, interview prep, financial aid guidance, and deadline management. For younger students, we assist with 4 year planning and summer research program applications. We help from start to finish to ensure a smooth, seamless transition from high school to college.

  • Yes! We offer free consultations to assess your needs and recommend a personalized plan. It’s a great way to see if we’re a fit without pressure.

  • We match students with counselors based on their academic interests, goals, and personality fit. We try to match our students with an advisor who attended your student’s dream school. Every counselor is experienced, trained, and focused on building a strong relationship with the student.

  • Yes — consistency is key. Students build a relationship with one dedicated tutor or counselor who really understands their goals and growth. We only bring in others when it adds value, like essay specialists.

  • All our tutors scored in the top 1% and are trained in our curriculum. Our counselors are former admissions officers, college advisors, or have advanced degrees in education. All of our professionals are either certified members of the IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association) or pursuing official certification. We only hire people who are passionate, proven, and student-focused.

SAT/ACT Prep

  • We start with a diagnostic test and a one-on-one evaluation with our Director to pinpoint strengths and gaps. Then we build a targeted plan based on their goals, learning style, and score history and assign our student to a professional tutor who we believe is a strong cultural, academic, and professional fit for your student who will serve as a mentor. It's 100% custom — no generic workbooks.

  • We offer both. Some students thrive in small group settings for motivation, while others benefit more from 1-on-1.

  • We hire exclusively from Ivy League/top 1% scorers who have a minimum of 3 years of experience. We don’t just hire academic professionals, we hire role models for your children. More importantly, they’re trained educators who know how to teach the test — not just take it.

  • It depends on the timeline and goals. A typical student gets 1–2 hours of targeted practice per week. For higher score goals or shorter timelines, that increases. We keep it manageable and effective. Our commitment to consistency and efficiency, means that your student’s biggest problems get addressed first and fully so that we boost their score and their confidence.

  • We provide regular score reports and updates after sessions using our custom-made progress and homework trackers. You’ll know exactly where your student is improving, what they’re working on, and what to expect next.

  • We get results, FAST. It is not uncommon for some students to gain 50, 70, or even 90 points in just a week of intensive prep. Most students see improvement within 4–6 weeks of consistent prep. We track progress every few sessions using custom-built trackers so families can see where gains are happening. For larger score jumps, we recommend a 3–4 month plan.

  • We stand behind our tried-and-true program. Most test programs have a score guarantee after 50 hours of prep. We get results in 30, tops. If your student follows the plan and completes all homework assignments but doesn’t reach the guaranteed increase, we offer additional sessions at no cost or continue working with them until they do.
