About Northpoint
Northpoint Prep was founded in 2018 by a mother-and-son duo (both educators) as a two-person operation in Houston. From our living room, we expanded into a team of current and former teachers, education professionals, and former college admissions officers who are passionate about what they do and offer academic tutoring, test preparation, and college admissions consulting. Since then, our team of 30+ tutors and education specialists have supported hundreds of students from across the world boost their confidence, improve their report card scores and standardized test scores, and earn over $9 million in scholarships towards their dream colleges.

Large prep companies will overcomplicate the process to sell longer and more expensive courses which can cause students to feel burned out. At Northpoint, our students improve their SAT scores by an average of 160 points, while our ACT students increase by an average of 4.3 points. Not a single one of our students failed their STAAR exams in Texas in the last 7 years, and we’ll be keeping it that way for a while. From test score gains to top college acceptances, our numbers highlight the results our students achieve and the broad community we’re proud to serve.

Many students felt that it was impossible to connect with a tutor who understood their experiences and challenges, which is why we exclusively hire tutors who are “in touch” with the current landscape and can relate to challenges that your student faces. Northpoint was created to give students the kind of support that feels personal, encouraging, and empowering. Our tutors went through the late nights, the confusion about where to start, and the frustration of not having access to the guidance they needed. With help from like-minded mentors across the world, we created a place where students feel understood, where tutoring is accessible, and where every learner is encouraged to dream boldly.
